Valentine nail art

So I had a few minutes (literally) to play a bit with my naokomi/Mash
set. So I made a drawing of Valentine's day. It included cute little hearts. Awww.

valentines day 2011,nail lacquer

I used Nakomi m78, which is an exact dupe m78 Konad
. The quality of the plate is superb, although some of my stamping was funky. This was due to using a stamper rosso and rosso konad Polish. I couldn't figure out if the picture was perfect, when I pick it up. Usually, check the Stamper in the first place, and if its not at par beginning above. Red on red was not a good idea.

nail art for valentines

For base enamel I used OPI birthday Babe
(anniversary collection, 2006), that really, I don't see much difference from Kyoto Pearl. If you already have one, I wouldn't go astray to purchase more.

Interestingly enough, the whole nail was almost too big for most of my fingernails. Unlike the other disconnect brands. I really enjoy this template and I hope sports for the next week.

Toe nail designs

So I realized that I left my whole kit to my dad's hands last week. Fortunately, I had some back to get pictures that helped me. I'm going to be picking up the kits on Friday, yay. In essence, has everything I need (cuticle creams, nail clippers, transparencies, art stuff).

One of my drawings back I was saving for later was again another toe. This time, with white tips (oh white Polish because you curse me!) I used OPI Nail Polish Alpine Snow
.

For the variegated stuff I have used nail art objects from Viva La nails that were given to me for review.

The sparks of cool stars are actually "Gleam", and the pictures do not do any justice. When they capture the right lighting back shine beautifully. The only downside is that they are thicker than most glitter.
It requires a few good finishes to seal so that they do not tear off.

The design of flower is from their collection of white nail stickers. There are also thick as kind of a foam. A real pain to put topcoat. Suppose that the only good thing is that they give a 3D effect, AND theres some sparkly silvery spots on it, so it's not just white. However, if you order that probably would.

I promise, nail new stuff up here Monday and not your toes!

OPI Swatch Royal Rajah Ruby

Painting my nails this week hasn't been easy. So I'm doing the best they can for the moment. The House was filled with the family. It was great spending time with everyone, but already I feel like I need some me time. I bet you ladies know how I feel!

Anywho, I've been playing with a beautiful color today. I'm not a fan of Red-Brown but opi Royal Rajah Ruby
is very deep red shimmer. It is beautiful in all the lights.

Rajah Royal Ruby is from India by spring/summer ' 08. It is still readily available online and through Amazon. Is great for winter color is a deep velvety.

In the light darker, it seems almost brown-black. In situations very well-lit seems very glittering Red Ruby.

Manic Panic Collection

This post is brought to you by Manic Panic Collection. All opinions are 100% mine.
In case you didn't know already, Manic Panic offers a collection of makeup and nail polish. Although mainly focused on punk/goth/rock crowds Manic Panic I think might be useful for any makeup or nail polish diva. I used to use the colors of manic panic hair crazy in my teens. The line has always been brave and out there. I wasn't "goth" by any stretch, just a bit of a free spirit. I think I gave my mom a few heart attacks. Teehee

Hellfire
They offer only 4 nail colors, but some are very interesting (and only $ 4) including a purple glitter called blood-thirsty! Other transparencies include Heavy Metal, a black with glitter and Hellfire, which is red with black glitter. I have a lot of fun with these slides, I wonder if you are applying? Has anyone tried them?
They have great kits with directions to the very bold look that could be used for any situation where you would need to look extremely dramatic. When ordering on-line from the creature's collection The Night you can get a mascara free with your order with coupon code mascara :
So if you're feeling a little bold today, you might want to check out manicpaniccollection.com-

MAC Nail Design

Now that the new year has rolled in, its time to start thinking about spring. At least, this is my reasoning! It was warm here, even after the huge snow storm. I hope it stays warm.

Today I made a new design for my nails. I used the m.a.c. Bad fairy. I'm still in love with the colouring. Pink works so well with the orange glow that shines in the light.

mac nail lacquer,nail art,nail stamp

For the design, I used GCOCL plate (m76), which resembles the branches with leaves. I used konad Black
Special Polish. In fact it seemed incredible alone over bad fairy.

mac bad fairy,nail designs

In the end, I used teal teardrop shaped by Viva la nails sparkles. I covered some of the designs on the leaf stamp nail. I think it worked very well. Unfortunately, the sparks are great, and my nails are quite curved. Thus they flaked out fast enough.

All in all, definitely do this again sometime soon drawing even with the sparks. The next time I'll pay better attention to job placement.

Holiday Pedicure

In my view in case there is a * very * strict rule of shoes. So the holidays require me to have my fingers well done.

I just rubbed heavy lotion on the first picture, so manifested in some of the images.

water decal,nail art,nail design,christmas nails

I started with enamel silver. I used Wet N Wild precious metals (Lilac available on Amazon
). Then I used water decals on the big toe for flowers. I could have painted flowers on, but I was in a hurry. Really I dont like decals water too, working with them is a pain. I think that I work with them improperly.

water decal,nail art,nail design,christmas nails

After I finished the rest of the fingers with little red foil strips in a template so it seemed almost woven. I wish I hadn't finished the time applying top coat, as some were not sealed off. However, it still looks really good.

French manicure with nail stamp

I had a family emergency. It tied me hypothesis and emotionally. That is why I have not posted, didn't even have the time or energy to even think about doing my nails. Obviously, the family comes first. Things have settled.

Getting my daughters birthday party and I need to sport some nice nails and toes. I thought that finally out French plates and how not to stamp all wonky. I used the exact Konad Knock off
Konad-M45
with Nakomi m45. Im still waiting to see if they ever come back in stock. Really Ladies, I'm on pins and needles as much as you are all.

easy french manicure,simple nail design

Understand the plates French, was a bit more difficult then other designs. I watched a youtube tutorial that tells the angle the design upwards, rather than straight. This has worked relatively well. Then I started to practice nails naked (such as this drawing) go slow with the timbre and following my own curvature in the nail bed. This helped me to get the "feeling" even better.

french manicure,2011 nails,easy nail art

Later I practiced (but did not have snap shots) over a nail fully painted. My best advice is don't blindly stamp design, look what you're doing from a side angle. This will allow you to perfect bending every time. If you use special Polish Konad is still slightly flexible after the application, you can push some drawings or remove pieces of design. On top of another Polish color is more tricky, but doable.

konad,nakomi,nail stamp art

You can see some areas I could have cleaned up, but I ran out of time. Although this easy French design has almost become second nature are still on a time crunch. I hope to do by a French design at my nails for the party. I want to make my fingers too French, but the designs are wide enough to my thumbs and do not fit my big toe. This makes me sad because it is the reason that I wanted the French to begin with! (I love French pedicure!)

You do not know OPI review Jacques!

So far, I've been using O.P.I. a lot lately for my nails. Honestly, I haven't used O.P.I. much since I was pregnant, which, at the time most O.P.I. polishes contained formaldehyde.Thing's have changed.
To sum it up formaldehyde essentially causes polish to last longer. I've noticed that my new O.P.I. polishes actually last longer than previous versions (but dry slower).

So I wanted to sum up my O.P.I. Review with some swatches of You Don't Know Jacques!

O.P.I. You Don't Know Jacques!
Review: O.P.I. Polishes now have a wider brush on most of their bottles. I personally, love this. I'm good at application with any size brush but the Pro Wide brush makes my life much easier. Some may not like this, as you can easily pick up too much nail polish. (note, I still sometimes find bottles with the skinny brush, but usually it's part of the other lines like O.P.I. Feet)
OPI Nail Polish You Don't Know Jacques!
in creme colors is also slightly thicker than most of my other brands. However, sometimes it still takes 3 coats for good coverage depending on the color (tip: lighter colors usually mean more polish coats).
O.P.I. polishes take FOREVER to dry. At least it seems that way to me. I use a hair dryer set on "cold" to speed up the process. You really have to make sure the first coat is dry before applying the second coat, otherwise it will NEVER dry.
However, once fully dry, they don't chip as bad as other polishes. With a good top-coat I can keep my polish on for 3 or more days. Without a top coat its 1-2 days.
The price is the one thing I'm not fond of in most retail settings. I can get O.P.I. for $2.75-$4.25 a bottle at a local beauty supply store. However, I've seen the price go easily to $9 or more in consumer settings (Salons and even grocery stores).

O.P.I. You Don't Know Jacques! Is a beautiful deep rich grey-taupe tone. I don't really know how to describe it. Sometimes it seems it has hints of purple(it doesn't, I think cooler lights have this effect), other times it just seems deep taupe or a warm grey. I guess it depends on how you describe colors. Regardless, it's a beautiful color that's totally in this season.
You Don't Know Jacques! in cooler light
It's also super shiny, even without a top coat. I couldn't stop staring at my nails. The shine was so much that my camera had a rough time focusing (check photo above). This color in particular is also more durable than my other O.P.I. lacquers, I have been wearing it since Tuesday with nail art on top and have not had a single chip. I'm very rough with my nails.

You Don't Know Jacques Under warmer light
The potential for this particular color is amazing. Even plain it's gorgeous and sophisticated. However, with nail art on top it's perfect too. The only thing I might not suggest is using it for a french tip as it'll probably just look like dirty nails. I did a Halloween theme for the past week on my nails that I'll post up Monday.

So what do you think of the current O.P.I. polish vs their old polish from a few years back? Do you like it more or less? Do you think it's important nail polish is more "green" and safer?

Swatch OPI to your Quebec & Call

Spring is so close, even though we had a snowstorm on April 1st. Of course, those of us in the New England almost always rely on that April Fools joke! For booting that are always above the worst cold I've ever had. Almost I think I got pneumonia. Through all this I slept with my mom for a week and helped his pack.

My in-laws have talked about a trip to Canada, so naturally I had to swatch up OPI Nail lacquer At Your Quebec & Call. It's a bit of a mess because I Split/shredded a lot of my nails while helping MOM move.

opi canadian collection, quebec and call, gold nail polish

This color from the collection, Canadian O.P.I is a beautiful dark green gold. Might work well with a black cocktail dress for a night out, or even with a nice tan in summer. The shine of gold is so perfect.

Before you start the application I used ® scientifique mavala Nail Hardener
that is by far the best I've ever tried. I hadn't used in the last month, then all the breaks. If you're against formaldehyde that I would not suggest using this, it contains quite a bit. However, it absorbs right into nail and hardens them so incredibly well without any layers of garbage.

nail hardener,mavala,best for nails

Anyway, to return the swatch. Like most lucid O.P.I., At Quebec and call Your applied fairly easily. One thing I noticed is their glossy Sheen, much faster than dry not effortless. I was ready to go in 2 minutes. It took 2 for full coverage. I think the photos made it look slightly, but that is not the case in real life.

opi nail polish,at your quebec and call

All in all, it's like a beautiful color. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Even with my super pink-pale skin still looks good.

Spring Nail Design

So I know spring seem so far away now. Especially after us here in the North-East winter has received a gift of 2 feet of snow. I need heat! I need to spring! So jazzed my nails with some color.

For the base I used opi La Paz-itively Hot Nail
. It is a beautiful rose almost warm with some purple tints in it. Although so over the top for conservative settings is still very beautiful.

la pazitively hot,spring 2011

I then used Nail Art Club Green
(with a bit long, specifically for nail art, the link is for the entire series) for the green leaves. Designs like these are the easiest to do. Collect only on Polish and work in one quick smooth motion. Practice makes perfect. Also I make mistakes (you can see it) if I slow down. Work quickly.

nail designs,nail lacquer,opi

To add a little extra I used a dotting tool
to add some sparkley enamel silver. I hate using actual dotters with enamel. In my opinion, they work best with wishy-washy acrylic paints. Some are awesome with them. Congratulations if you are!
So my nails do not actually make the temperature warmer than the outside and melt the massive snowdrifts. However, certainly make me feel warmer and put a smile on my face.View the original article here

OPI fireflies

They want a single word to sum up the fireflies by O.P.I.
Holiday 2007 collection? N.
What he was thinking of OPI? So the color is better than the actual Polish on. Fireflies are so beautiful, mystical, fun. Simply does not work on the nails.

OPI Fireflies Holiday 2007 nail polish blog

I if you want a pure no matter how many coats (I did) that resembles you stained fingernails suppose then go for it. Hehe. But otherwise, I could only see this being useful for color glazes of stratification.

Normally I'm all for the colors of enamel weird and I don't like being negative about many things, but as my feet OPI in peach, this is in the box "do not use it again."

O.P.I. collection Switzerland skiing Teal there to fall

Probably the only color that I really wanted from Switzerland by OPI Ski Teal we Drop
. I was so in love with the samples I've seen, but my CBSullivan seems to be always sold out. Finally broke down and ordered through Amazon (for double the price, Ouch). Amazon told me that I should wait a month for shipment, but I got it within 2 weeks.

O.P.I 2010 collection Switzerland skiing Teal there to fall
The color is nice navy blue cream more light. I love. I could see using it for all kinds of fun designs. Actually, I made a colorful French design that I'll post next week. In general, it is a great autumn/winter glaze.

In the warmer light
The downside is, in most warm lights or night actually seems completely green forest. Gag. Green is one of my favorite colors, but for some reason forest green nails just look funky to me. For me, this is the biggest drawback of sci Teal there to fall. I bugged me so I removed my Polish a day before I had originally intended.

Because I had trouble finding it in my beauty shop (which had the rest of the collection Swiss) I can only assume his popular. In fact, many sellers on Amazon, it including Amazon with free shipping. Don't be turned off at the time of shipment, really didn't take more than a month for their it plop into mail-more like 5 days.

Nail Design for winter's Eve

A crazy week. My internet was improper, I think its actually not wireless and cable-hence the delay in the publication. He had prepared the posts, but couldn't get on-line posting.

For the next few days I'll be with family and friends to celebrate Christmas (we have several matches to go). More on New Years, then add the fact that my grandsons birthday is Jan 1. So I wanted to publish the design that will be sporting new year.

snowflake nails, opi, konad nail art, GCOCL m10

The base that I did with OPI Ski Teal we Drop
, which I reviewed in a previous post. It is a beautiful Marina (However, in some forest green light it seems). As the shadow, mostly. I'd like more if it doesn't appear ever green forest.

new years nail design, opi swiss, konad stamp

For the snowflakes, I used GCOCL dishes, which are like the cheaper version of Konad nail art plates. The dish I used was m10. The paint used was konad Sky Pearl
that is a mid-light blue with reflexes. The gloss is not normally visible after stamping, but the color is beautiful.
If you haven't tried before art stamps of nails, I highly recommend. Spending adds to buy food, but they last forever and can be reused indefinitely.

I tried not to Center large flakes of snow so I could add a partial to either side to make it more like falling snow. I like how the look came. Is probably one of my favorite nail molding drawings.
